How does BNI work?

BNI is founded on the philosophy of "Givers Gain". This puts into words the concept that if I give you business, you will want to give me business in return.

When you join a chapter, its members become your sales force. As you promote their business, so they will yours. This works because it's based on trusted relationships that you form with the other members of the group.

Additionally, to avoid competition amongst members, only one person is allowed to join from any one trade or profession. If you have a look at our members list, you'll see that we only have one web developer, one architect, and so on. However, if you specialise in a particular part of your industry (law is a good example) such as conveyancing law or family law, do contact us as the lawyer in our group only specialises in commercial law.

How do people get to know about what I do?

Every week, each member gives a one-minute presentation about their business. We're your sales force, so we need to know what you do, and who you want us to find for you. By using the one-minute slot each week, you can, over time, brief us fully on your business, why you're good at it, and how to introduce us to your best clients. On top of that, one member each week does a 10 minute presentation, which gives them much more time to explain their business. You'll get that opportunity too.

Each time someone finds a friend or colleague in their network that would benefit from your business, they pass you a referral. Referrals are different to leads - these are people who are currently looking for a service you provide and as such are a genuine opportunity to do business.
